“We've been a part of the Nixon community since the 2019-2020 school year.  The staff at Nixon is so welcoming and they make you feel like you fit right in straight away. They genuinely care about all of their students like their own children. They pull together in times of chaos (pandemic and derecho). They keep the routines up as much as possible and are very inclusive for all the children that attend. To say we are a community is an understatement. I feel like at Nixon we are family. The older generation of students still like to come and chat it up with the staff even if they don't have younger siblings attending the school and the teachers welcome that. They are excited to see their students whether they had them in the past or in the present. The staff go the extra mile for our students and families. It is hard to know that this is the last year together. I am saddened to see our family torn apart. I am hopeful that some of the bonds and friendships my children made here at Nixon, not only with their peers, but also with the staff, continue to grow and we don't lose touch. We are losing our neighborhood school, it's sad, but it's not about the building, it's about the people and I am truly going to miss the Nixon family after this year is over.”

“My favorite think about Nixon is everyone truly wants the best for each other. Our staff is full of so many unique talents that we have consistently. We want to see one another, our students, succeed in whatever we face. I can go on and on, but basically Nixon is a true community that loves one another."
